Research
My current research project explores narratives of family planning in France after 1975. Though contraception and abortion were legal during this time, pronatalist concerts lingered in France. Furthermore, information about family planning was largely inaccessible due to a lack of sex education.
Working with literary and cultural productions as well as archival sources, I analyze how women navigated this uncharted territory and how they shared their stories. Ultimately, my work attempts to understand how women used these new family planning resources to redefine motherhood in late 20th century France.
